The 2003 FTD release of
the Fun in
Acapulco
soundtrack is a great representation of the original 2-track
masters, replacing the poorly remixed Double Features
version as well as everything released before (reel-to-reel
and LP versions). The original masters have nice dynamic
compression of vocals and almost natural sounding echo of
instruments. Although it might be possible to remix the
soundtrack properly from 3-track in the future, this use of
original 2-track masters is considered historically correct.
The Double Features mix had a dry sound of instruments which
wasn't that bad. It was mainly the digital reverb of the
vocals and the 3-channel delay that was disturbing. |
|
|
Studio dialogue before
masters and a few alternate vocal parts can be found on the
Czech release "The Elvis Acetates volume 1" (Memory 2024-2).
The record version of The Bullfighter Was a
Lady is
listed as being spliced from takes 9 and 7. However the
acetate version that ought to be take 9 alone does not
reveal any unique parts. |
|
|
The remake versions of
I Think I'm Gonna
Like It Here and The Bullfighter Was a
Lady
are the actual movie versions. All other soundtrack vocals
are identical to the album versions. |
