There is some confusion regarding the master of Angel. In one of Paul Dowling's interviews, Ernst Jorgensen said that the stereo master had survived because "they spliced Angel and A Whistling Tune back on one of the outtake tapes. I don't know why but they did.". This doesn't have to mean that the master was spliced from two takes, but it's a guess. In "A Life in Music" it is still listed as take 7. It is unknown why a vocal overdub was recorded as well, or if it was used for the (possibly) spliced master. |

|
The Argentinian CD, "25 Grandes Éxitos"(74321 49055-2) includes Follow That Dream take 2 although the cover notes claim that it is the lost stereo master (take 6). The mistake can probably be blamed on the fact that BMG had used take 4 on "Command Performances" without saying so, not even an "unreleased" note, and that version was later listed as "take 2" in "A Life in Music". |

Source update to
follow.
This session has been released in better quality than listed
sources on the import CD 'Keep Following That Dream'(Kwimper
Records 0761) and on the Czech CD 'Complete Follow That
Dream Session'(Memory 2003). The Kwimper CD is a bit
noise-reduced and edited, but seems to be mastered from a
DAT source. Spectral plots of the Czech CD imply a MiniDisc
source and it is about one or two generations down. Still,
it has more ambience than the Kwimper ditto and it isn't
edited. So a third, "best of both worlds" release would
still be welcome... |
